What an absolutely perfect day it was at Montrose Dog Beach in Chicago! The weather was 74 and sunny, the water was around 60 degrees, the beach was very clean and not too crowded, traffic was very smooth going in, and parking was easy. As usual we had a good turnout for our beach meetup. We even had a few first-timers show up. Welcome to the group! Several dogs had their first water experience and all did well. It looks like Hank has welcomed a new sister to his home too. It was good seeing many of our Chicago friends who don't make it out to the suburban meetups. We probably had about 15 or more Great Danes out there and I think everyone had a lot of fun. There was one enormous English Mastiff who reminded me of a wooden barrel who was out having fun and an Italian Greyhound wanted Brutus to chase him too. Brutus somehow never runs out of energy! I hope to get back out to Montrose again in August. 14 meetups in a row and we haven't had to cancel a single one due to weather. Thank you Mother Nature for always working with us!!!

A warm windy day in St. Charles
It was warm and very windy in Saint Charles for our May meetup. The dogs didn't seem as "into it" as they normally do likely because of the heat. Even Ares and Brutus didn't do too much sparring like usual. I saw a lot of long tongues hanging out. There were about 8 Great Danes out there. Two I had never met before and they left early without any introductions. Maybe we'll see them again.
A lot of first-timers out in Deerfield in April
We had a fun meetup in April at Jaycee Park in Deerfield. There were about a dozen or more Great Danes who made it out with several first timers including a few puppies. Jager and Dynasty were two of the Danes making their first appearance.
Schweitzer Woods in March
We had a good turnout for the March meetup. We welcomed Ares to his first meetup and he and Brutus seemed to hit it off with a lot of running and jumping. We had at least 8 Great Danes make it out to this meet.
Another meetup in the snow!
We met out at Schweitzer Woods Forest Preserve in West Dundee. There was snow on the ground, but the weather cooperated with us overall. We had a good time with about 7 Great Danes in attendance. This Brutus' first meetup and we saw Elton again who has grown much bigger.
An indoor meetup to beat the cold weather!
Determined to still have our monthly meetup, we found an indoor site to meet at in Huntley, IL. I was not particularly impressed with the location or the staff at the site, but it was indoors none the less and we all stayed warm. Three of us made it out to this one and we had five dogs (3 Danes and 2 other breeds).
